Preparations for the farm festival

This week also marks the end of the first half of our construction work. To celebrate, we invited friends and neighbors to the 'Bergfest'. The last few days of the week are all about preparing for the party, making cozy seating furniture and collecting mushrooms.

Finally some tidiness!

We take a short trip and help Marju and Georg with the woodwork. Many building sites are are getting close to completion, some old mess is finally being cleared up and the landscaping work is starting in the green area. In addition to a bench by the river, home-made fishing nets and a house with a hat, there are also jam pancakes and baskets full of chanterelles.

Moor, sauna, barn cinema

The weekend is characterized by moorland walks, berry picking and hot sauna sessions. The highlight for the time being: a movie night together in the barn. Not so easy in a place without electricity and internet, but in the end a complete success. On Monday, the work in the green area really gets going: apple trees are pruned, harvested and trimmed.

When did all of this happen?

Thursday starts with buckwheat porridge, apple sauce from our own trees and procrastination. Friday is really productive and ends with a big success. In between there are visits from friends and lots of crafting fun. Shortly before the weekend, there's a roofing ceremony.

Here we go!

The morning of yesterday's Estonian Independence Day greets us with glorious sunshine, which some of us take as an opportunity to use for a morning walk. We also see the first signs of construction progress. Finally, there is a surprise with the metal detector.
